The official STALKER: Twilight K.E.T. mod thread!

Due to forum changes to make my life easy I've just resized the screens and moved them to new posts

Welcome to the official TK thread readers!

First things first as its asked a lot, the K.E.T. bit is not some egotism on my part, its simply a coincidence and actually stands for Kill Em Twice! :D

As TK1.1 has taken shape and theres just a few things left to iron out, the point in this thread is to give people teasers, screenshots, videos, and to get your feedback, ideas, bug reports etc. So come back frequently as there will likely be new stuff to see\download\read!

The Aim of Twilight K.E.T.

The aim of TK is not to drastically change STALKER and its story, but rather to deliver a mod that lives up to the original hype of SoC. Every aspect really has been covered in this mod from broken X-Ray engine features, to textures, atmosphere, how weapons handle and the dynamic gameplay. Within Twilight K.E.T. is an immensely diverse experience, and represents quite possibly the most comprehensive, detailed, visually stunning, realistic experience of any STALKER mod.

3. - Some main features of Twilight K.E.T.

- NPCs throw grenades and can use medkits
- Helicopters that will attack you unexpectedly
- Traders have unique stock to them
- Weapon and monster reskins
- AI Panic system
- Advanced AI
- Stealth
- Epic battles
- Diverse beginning
- All new unrivalled realistic gore system
- Enemies can bleed to death
- Removed mutants
- All new weather system
- Sleeping and dreaming
- Blowouts and PSI emissions
- Heavily modified weapons (firepower, attachments. Experiment!)
- Drivable vehicles (not fully implemented in TK 1.1)
- Sound overhaul ( you can now hear the crackle of campfires, the gentle patter of rain hitting rooftops and the ground, realistic sound travel distances for weapons fire, etc)
- Mutant "food chain". Occasionally you may see mutants attacking eachother, just like opposing factions, mutants also hate certain other mutant breeds.
- "Smart" AI. If you kill a faction member only the NPCs that heard or saw the deed will become enemies, not the entire faction. This excludes rules such as blowing a NPCs face off on main Duty territory. You will still be labelled as a murderer.

The readme prologue

The dreams are coming faster now... The Zone is inexplicably expanding, scientists are struggling for answers, and Stalkers are currently oblivious to the impending doom, thinking their worst nightmare is a well armed and armored human. Things are like déjà-vu.. The same but somehow different. If only "they" knew what you do..

Welcome to The Zone, Stalker.

EDIT! POSITIONS NOW OPEN ON THE TK TEAM!

I'm looking for the following individuals with the relevent skills. If you want to be part of a friendly team open to all ideas drop me an email or PM :)

Scripters - TK is becoming immensely complicated, beyond my limited knowledge of LUA.

BETA testers - Exactly as it says on the tin!

People skilled with anything like MAYA - I want to add some weapons I feel the zone would have, but I suck at modeling and skin making.

I'm working on it ;) trying to add stuff to this thread while trying to fix the ONE remaining bug I know of in TK1.1 thats preventing me from releasing it. (The C stack overflow stuff) I'm uploading a video of TK1.1 right now, should give people a good idea of the kind of atmosphere to expect 8)

Hey Ket I know you like the details to be right, so....

I use that Vodka skin and created an in game icon for it... you want it?

I am pretty similar, I even changed PDA and loading textures to match the blue fruit punch I did for PE3

Thanks very much :D TK1.1, as long as people have had to wait for it already, will only be released when I feel its had enough polishing and a couple bugs are worked out. Right now I'm putting mutants into the all.spawn instead of script, this should work around the C stack overflows. The other bug is an odd one.. since putting the mutants into all.spawn trying to load an autosave CTDs the game :/

Just found these again, couple vids of TK1.1 in its earlier development stages, including vds of a helicopter attack ;)

vid 1
vid 2
vid 3 pt1
vid 3 pt2

Oh yes and something else about TK1.1, NPCs treat some weapons differently. For example the L85, I always found it utterly retarded how NPCs just used to "shoot from the hip" with it even though its fitted with a scope. So now NPCs treat it like a fully automatic sniper rifle! ...Beware of bandits with an L85, they can, and will, riddle you with holes :P

POSITIONS NOW OPEN ON THE TK TEAM!

I'm looking for the following individuals with the relevent skills. If you want to be part of a friendly team open to all ideas drop me an email or PM :thumbleft:

Scripters - TK is becoming immensely complicated, beyond my limited knowledge of LUA.

BETA testers - Exactly as it says on the tin!

People skilled with anything like MAYA - I want to add some weapons I feel the zone would have, but I suck at modeling and skin making.

Level builders - TK I want to be more than just deliver what was originally promised, I have my own ideas and concepts to add, but for this to happen I need more people than just me who are skilled at level building.

Okay, I had to install Divx to get it to play but I like it. Can't think of any
way to do it better. I've still got 1.0 and it was cool too. I say use it and
get back to finishing 1.1. I'm being very selfish and ready to play it.
Good work! It's your fault I'm so selfish because you posted all those great screenshots and gameplay descriptions. :thumbright:

Don't worry, TK1.1 is coming :thumbright: I'm just very.... particular about things. I'm a very creative person and I feel vanilla stalker sucked compared to what was promised. So short of adding in levels (which will eventually happen as well :P ) I want to get everything refined in TK1.1 :rr:
