I seem to have big problems running this mod now. I reinstalled STALKER patched to 1.0004 and checked the game works fine. But after I extract/install the mod I can not start the game up at all. With or without the allow gamedata to be true in the fsgame file. Deleting the gamedata the mod makes and my game works fine again.

I tried reinstalling STALKER and tried downloading the mod again and both did not work. Can anyone else try downloading the mod or know any reason to this?

You sure that's not a software conflict? Something else you have installed since you last played that mod?

I don't think so. I reinstalled Windows starting from fresh recently (round a month) and everything I have on my computer is pretty much the same when I last played the mod. Doesn't make much sense to me :-?

lol, I'm having problems with KET - not at the beginning but at the end. Getting CTD after declining to join C-Consciousness, during loading Stancia 2.

Opening stream...
* phase time: 5 ms
* phase cmem: 213813 K
Loading CFORM...
stack trace:

0023:7373500A MSVCR80.dll, strncmp()
0023:00241ABF xrCDB.dll, CDB::MODEL::build_internal()

If I get motivated will re-DL KET and reinstall everything from scratch.

Afternoon gentlemen. Thought I'd pop by as I've started working on TK again.

@ Balious, did you try my suggestions I messaged you on moddb?
@Krag, I've never seen that CTD before, it sorta looks like something borked in the vanilla files. Have you uninstalled (remembering to delete the stalker-shoc folder and main stalker directory) reinstalled and patched to 1.0004? If that doesn't work, install the latest version of DirectX and try.

Oh, I've the latest version of DirectX. The STEAM DLC fiasco with Metro 2033 ensured that. Tried damn near everything but a completely new Win 7 install until we all learned the reason Metro 2033 wouldn't run was due to a near 2 GB necessary file they deleted during the "upgrade" - but only deleted for some, not all. Great QC, guys!

I haven't been motivated to reinstall yet, as that game (as it played out, not KET itself) was rather dull. For instance, the choppers never turned on me in Stancia 1. No military spawn, either. Almost a walk in the park, one of the easiest Stancia 1 runs I've ever done. Warlabs was cake, as well. All on "Master" difficulty.

Thanks for the advice!

The choppers are part of the military, so if you are cool with them the choppers won't attack. Generally its quite tricky keeping the military on your side, but it is possible. Once the all.spawn gets finished people will experience TK how its meant to be, an it ain't easy thats for sure.

That's odd, my first KET playthrough had the choppers gunning for me with a vengeance, while the military were all neutral throughout the game. AI at its finest, I guess :))

Choppers have their own AI, some of them I told to just fire at the player anyway for shits and giggles in the last beta :d other choppers are linked with the military. I made the fatal mistake on my last playthrough (bugtesting) of making a lot of noise when I killed the military guys at agroprom, now all the millitary and all the choppers hate me. Duty despise me because my finger slipped in the bar when talking to a duty guy and he got blown away. The NPP sure is gonna be fun with every division of the millitary, choppers, and monolith all wanting to claim a bodypart as their trophy...

I got a little creative yesterday. What would you guys say if I said in a attempt to try and make TK more realistic I totally revamped all armor and player immunities and made it so if you stay in a radiation zone for too long your armor starts to deteriorate. Good idea? Bad idea? I also powered up different types of mutans so you fully feel your inferiority as a "mere human". A little example scenario;

Some guy is shooting at you with standard rounds - MWAHAHAHAHA! What a n00b youre wearing armor!
You encounter another guy who starts shooting at you, this time with AP rounds - That armor if yours isn't really going to do squat to protect you. Take cover!
Plodding along at night you run into a pack of bloodsuckers. Depending how strong they are it could take up to FOUR shots even from the SPAS12 at point blank range to kill one of them. ONE. To make this encounter even more joyous they can spill your intestines like soup in a few strikes, thus quickly ending your life in the zone in double quick time. Keep your distance from them!

Its a 900MB download even with maximum compression, might take moddb a day or two to auth it. AFAIK TK is now one of the largest stalker mods, unpacked its about 2GB.

D/L'd and in Cordon now. Great job with the textures. Everything looks more aged and weathered. I like how the clouds come and go, changing the light on the ground. And the first time a blind dog came near me, I swear I was smelling rotting flesh!

In rookie camp, Wolf *used* to have a nice upgraded rifle, he doesn't need any rifle any more ;)
