This is what I hoped Stalker would be like, in terms of the size of the world and being one big level.

I think the idea of one big level with hundreads of little levels in the form of caverns or castles was great, the playing area was absolutely huge when you took into account the underground areas.

I refused to complete the game for months, because I loved raiding the Oblivion gates and getting the stones that the gates used to exist.

I had a dark elf character with complete elven armour, each piece attached with one of these gate stones for mana regeneration, so that was I think +150 mana regen, then a couple of rings for increased base mana, and I was a walking ball of magic.

I loved creating my own spells, favourite was the death strike, it did very 1 second of high damage of all the elements, and at the same time soultrap. So a nice finishing move to grab a soul.

The arena was also pretty good.

My favourite character was the Argonian Shadow Battlemage.
I was immunite to disease and vampires, could walk in the water surface, being invisible, revealing invisible npc's, etc.
Dark Brotherhood FTW!

Hey guys i got this game and it seems to crash randomly. Now im not sure if this is due to either the random mods i install or my graphics card. Geforce 8400 GS for anyone that doesnt know my card.

Now im wondering what are the best mods to put on for this game. As i can not play this game without good mods and there are alot of mods im just confused. I like most things mods add. I like the game to be more realistic but also have other great things. Also deffiantly want the guards to be realistic.

Anyone that has the game and know there way around the mods know what mods i should get? And please dont give me a list as i just end up downloading alot that may not work together :(.

Apart from the Main Quest (apart from seeing the blades as its the only good bit for me in that quest) i enjoy this game alot even though i suck alot at it.

NPC: I fought mudcrabs fiercer then you!

Ah i remenber that thread but never really downloaded any of the mods but OOO.
Here are the list of mods i got from that link:
Bedrolls
Real Sleep
Real Hunger
Realistic Fatigue
OOO
Shiny Gold
Reneers Gold Mod
Bank of Cyrodiil
Vaults of Cyrodiil
Crowded Roads
Persuasion Overhaul
Denock Arrow
At Home Alchemy
Thievery In The Imperial City
Lynges Thieves Highway
Stealth Overhaul
Stealth Entrances
Blind Lockpicking
Lockpicks
Darker Dungeons
Brighter Drop Lit Torches With Weight
SM Plugin Refurbish

Now that boring long list is out of the way. Some are still downloading so i havent installed them just yet. Anyone care to help me making the guards more realistic if none of the above do. I would also like a proper invasion from the daedric or however spell them if there actually is a mod. I mean theres an invasion (if you play main quest you know this) and the people are more worried about seeing a mudcrab.

Thats it from me will add more later if i remenber something i want :).

Edit: almost forgot one of the most important things.. No fast travel! i need mod that has that so i dont get tempted to fast travel like i normally do :).

Edit yet again:
Is there a mod that makes NPCS eat more?

Ok is there anyone here that can mod on oblivion? If so is it easy as stalker (if you can mod here) except the scripting part for stalker as im totally confused on that.

Basically same purposes for stalker i would like to make mods on oblivion as well and so far for oblivion i know nothing about modding.

For guards realism try this
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... il&id=1603

I have used it myself, highly recommend it. :thumbleft:

Disabling fast travel:
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16324

Have not used it before, there are a couple of similar ones on TES Nexus and planetelderscrolls, so you might want to backup your saves just in case.

Aspiring modders try these:

I can't remember much, but I did mod for Oblivion, adding new items, armour and clothes, etc.

If I remember it was easier than Stalker, because of the size of the community (at that time) and the tools available. That was just after the game was released, wonder if I should revisit that game, would look awesome on my new PC...

Somehow I feel like playing oblivion again. But thanks to my urge I get when I play games with mods I need at least one good mod on. I want totally different ones to some I had before (if my game works 100% and my comp don't turn it off).

Well I want to roleplay oblivion for once meaning I guess have those roleplay mods of sleeping, eating etc. I want obvious things in oblivion to be there (dreadric invasion yet the villagers inside are more worried about mudcrabs attacking and the dreadric just stand there like some idiots thinking thats what an invasion is). I also want the NPC's to eat more and maybe more jobs (if there is a mod that adds more jobs) and deffiantly want to add more NPC's to the game.

Also you may not expect this (then again its me you expect anything) but how do I mod for oblivion. I know I need that tool (forget what its called) but I don't know of any guides as I havent really seen a full one telling you the basics etc. I will try looking for one when I get the chance but if anyone can link one that be great (and I won't waste your hard time of effort)

Damn I hate mudcrabs. But I hate the slaughterfish more. It's why no one ever sees me underwater :-? . Then again I hated swimming in most games no idea why.

Edit: Forgot to mention I know where to get most of the good roleplay mods (hey the link for the more realistic mods are in this thread as I count them as roleplay so I know where to get the hunger, tiredness and the weight mod)

This is the FAQ page of the modding wiki, you should find many things on the site of use.

http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/in ... n_Mods_FAQ

I modded TES4 a bit, but nothing too heavy, merging other mods, tweaking them and creating new items, etc. Much like Fallout 3.

I have to say, try F3 if you liked Oblivion, and especially if you liked Stalker... it has that post-apocalyptic vibe nailed.

Thanks for that Eggchen. I do have Fallout 3 but after all those memory leak crashes or whatever else could of caused it had corrupted my saves and so im stuck with the beginning and can't be bothered to go through all that vault again. I play it again when I know my crashes will be fixed or give me longer play time then about 10-20 mins to 1 hour.

I suspect that Oblivion may do the same for crashes as it normally did for me when I last had it on. I don't understand why games run perfect for me for about 1 or 2 days then the next time it goes buggy as hell :mozilla_frown:

Well time to find some mods and get mudcrab hunting.

Oblivion has always been one of my games that I play over and over. Like Stalker. I have a bunch of mods in it, but IF I can put Stalker down long enough, I am going to try Marts Mod that Audioave recommended.

Edit- I always make a "custom class" fighter. I name the class Idiot. I love it when the game says "Are you sure you want to be an Idiot?" =))
