Where are you from?

Postby Kanyhalos on 01 Oct 2008 19:53

Hi fellow stalkers!

I would like to introduce this thread.

Its main purpose is posting pictures about your homeland with comments regarding all photos.
Of course, anyone allowed to make multiple posts.

You should better to post links rather then thumbnails, because that would cause serious lag on the forum, probably.
So it should better to avoid that.

They can be both own-made photos or collected ones from the internet.

You can also just comment the pictures of the people in your posts or ask questions.

I shall post info about my homeland in the proper format.

----------------------------------------------------------

Actually I'm living in Miskolc, Hungary since 2,5 years.

It's about 700 km far from Chernobyl.:)

Well I'm glad you like that. We actually have some areas that persons are not allowed to visit, all for keeping the nature as it is

I'm really missing out on the "metropolis" aspect, although I like it less "populated".
Where I live, I am a half hour drive from endless lakes (Minnesota - land of 10,000 lakes - right on our license plates) and thick forests. Just where I like to be! The weather is basically 3 seasons:
A. The season of high humidity, 90 degrees, and mosquitos that can carry off small children. :pale:
B. The season of thunderstorms & high winds (and road construction)

C. my favorite The season of -25 degrees on the thermometer, & LOTS of snow. - Great for business, and great for snowmobiling. :thumbleft:

I have got to get in gear & get some pictures in here! :cussing:

EDIT: that is -25 degrees in farenheit :colors:

Lived and worked in the UK for 2 years on a working visa. I stayed in a little town south of Birmingham called Redditch. People were very nice but the weather man, OMG is it terrible.

Well I'm from Birmingham, and my parents live in Redditch!!

Fascinating fact, Tolkien's Lord Of Ring books were inspired by the two towers near where he lived, but I don't have many nice pictures.
