Don't, there is a (probably incorrect) theory that is where the first chav was discovered.... when I have visited that place it is nice to see where all my tax went, into the pockets of out of work scroungers, so they can buy baseball caps, cheap beer and knifes... isn't the welfare state a thing of beauty?

For those wondering what a chav is...

*Sigh*

Thats not what a "chav" *looks* like, theres many types of "Chavs", you got the MC'ing "Chav's" who look similar but only do the Freestyle rapping, you got the fucking idiot "Chav" who are just complete dicks and do stupid stuff, you got "Normal Chav's" who dress like that and talk in the "urban" style EG, wagwan sho sho, some random bre tryed acting all baderman so boied him off. etc.

And then you got me a "Unique Chav" i dress like it and chat like that and i can do normal and all that but i also am a really nice person. :D

That IS what a chav looks like where I live... and at the end of the day there is one common factor, scum-sucking parasites draining the resources of society. You may feel the same when your earning, working 40+ hours a week and you see these "people" living off the tax you pay.

Maybe I refer to a different type of person as a chav, but I certainly despair at anyone who proudly refers to themself as one.

I think you nailed my perception of what a Chav is with this phrase...

..you got the fucking idiot "Chav" who are just complete dicks and do stupid stuff

Isn't that the only kind? :geek:

Edit: Bringing this back on topic, sorry everyone!! Here is an aerial shot of Birmingham, notice the complete lack of city planning!!

It looks like all roads are coming and meeting in the centre. :) Must be difficult for traffic management.

If you mean low-middle, the big silver building, that is Selfridge's... you can see the Rotunda to the left of it.

Well, I decided to show some pics of where I'm livin right now. This is Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Don't be fooled, the trees hide the shanty-ness.

And this is what you get for living in a flood plain...

That bridge is over 60 ft over the normal water level. It was closed that day, along with pretty much all of Wilkes-Barre. There was this big mandatory evacuation, and we had the Army Corps of Engineers sandbaggin the dike.

Next time, I'll post where I was born!

Not really. Gang Violence is at an all time high, the education is in the downward spiral, almost all the buildings are at least 100 years old and constantly get deemed uninhabitable, and about 90% of the economy here is based on moving drugs. I've met maybe 3 people up here who don't do some drug or another.

And those disused buildings are about every other house. Hence, the shanty-ness.

Although, I've got one good thing to say about this place...
Its a f*ing fun place to live.

Rugby fans may have heard of "Carisbrook" (otherwise known as "The House of Pain") - the city is currently in the planning phases of building a new world class Rugby stadium - hopefully to be completed before we host the Rugby World Cup in 2011.

Hi everyone! Here is a little intro from me as well.. This thread looks nice enough place for it :)

I live in Zagreb, Croatia.

I'm not gonna go into details right now, but nicest parts of the city (IMHO) are in the old center.. There we have our Cathedral (this is before reconstruction started) and a main city square. Oh, and in reply to Vintar, this is our main train station, also recently renovated (link). What else? I must certainly NOT forget the Croatian National Theatre, which is a real nice place.. Zrinjevac is part of the "U" shaped green area in the very center, together with the Square of King Tomislav. This whole are together is often called "Green horse-shoe" (couldn't find any aerial photo, so this one was just so you get the idea about it :) )..

That's mostly it.. for now.. I could post pics of Croatia in general, but this is where I'm from, so no point of putting pictures of mountains or seaside :D

P.S. Such a nice thing, to have STALKER forum which handles URL tags, and even thumbnails! \:D/
