This is kinda related to the Music Jukebox thread, but this is somewhat different.
I want you guys to post your favorite music dvds/vhs that you own and tell why. This is more out of curiousity towards everyones' tastes in music...
I'll start off with my own:

1: Jimi Plays Berkeley,
This classic documentery/video of the berkeley concerts on May 30 1970 really captures the mood of the era in American History. The summer of love was over, and the wheels were moving towards the Hard Hat and Conservative Revolutions. The anti-war movement was losing steam and was being crushed underneath the iron heel of an armed government, and a tired public. Jimi really tapped into the chaotic confused energy of the crowd and played on those emotions with every ounce of his soul and creativity. Soon after Jimi's death, which was mere months after this concert, conformity and contentment took over the American public, and the youth of the era were not so kindly told to fuck off. Often with violence as seen during the Hard Hat Revolution, Kent State University, Chicago, and Berkeley California. In my opinion, I think that the money and blue collar life overtook the need for love, peace and change. If there was any concert that captured the transition of the late 60s into the late 70s, its this one.

2: Rolling Stones Gimme Shelter
Again, another documentery/video that captured this transition phase. The Rolling Stones were playing a FREE concert festival. During this festival, you see the division in the crowd interupt the music many times. The Rolling Stones even had to have the Hells Angels biker gang escort them to the stage, due to violence and mobbing in the crowd. At one point in this video, you see the stage stormed by the audience and the members of Jefferson Airplane get the living shit beaten out of them. It really showed the contrast of how the youth of the time looking for change and an attitude to go with it, go against the middle-class who just wanted to see the conflicts end so they could go back to easy living. Many times, The Rolling Stones just stopped playing, and asked the crowd to stop beating each others' heads in. It is a very sad and powerful video, mixed with phenomenal music that captures the attitude of a revolution that once was. And the climax sends chills down your spine, when an audience member pulls a gun and starts shooting at Mick Jager, and a Hells Angel stabs the shooter in the back of the head multiple times. Very sad indeed.

3: Led Zeppelin 2 disc DVD
You may surpirsed by this, but this video actually has next to nothing to do with history or politics. I simply like this video for the great music and creativity of the band. They really deliver some really rockin tunes. My favorite piece on this video was "In My Time Of Dying" filmed at Earl's Court in 1975. Jimmy Page really taps into those Southern Blues riffs and delivers a heavy driving piece that keeps you in it until the very end.

So, folks... Your turn!
EDIT: Oh and feel free to discuss and comment on each. I really enjoy talking about music. Music, History, and Chemistry are my favorites! :thumbleft:

I don't really own many music DVD's, as I always prefer to listen to music while doing something, not sat in front of the TV!!

However I do have :

Massive Attack - They have some awesome videos.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Massive-Attack- ... 420&sr=8-2

Beastie Boys - Again awesome videos, worth watching!!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beastie-Boys-An ... 471&sr=1-1

The Jam - More for the live material than the promos.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jam-Complete/dp ... 509&sr=1-2

Orbital - The Altogether Album - An album in 5.1 surround sound, with mixes, extended 24 minute version of meltdown and trippy visuals if you want them!!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Orbital-Altoget ... 602&sr=1-1

Finally - This one is deadly serious, an "ex" brought it me as a bit of a joke so I annoyed her by watching the whole thing, with the volume off.

By the way, I do not use Amazon because they say they have the right to sell terrorist training books, its just where I could find all the links. Please buy your music from reputable retailers who do not condone terrorism for the sake of their profits. OK kids :thumbright:

Well, show us some pics Meander. Are they on your walls or in your closet or in your bureau or what? Pics, pics, pics :)

And yes, The Wall is very heavy. Great to watch on certain substances (alcohol included). But I think the best experience is with headphones.

I would post pics, but since my last hard drive crash, I haven't been able to find the cd for my webcam. Its actually driving me nuts to heve this webcam and have no software for it. I'll see if I can find it before wok tomorrow...

And surprisingly enough, I have only watched the wall while sober. One of these days, I'm going to buy the special edition dvd and enjoy some ganja while watching it.
