How can I work on OGF files in MAYA?

Postby anchor.1 on 06 Oct 2008 23:34

I'm sorry if this sounds a noobish question, but I'm trying to work on a couple of .ogf files from SoC. I have MAYA 2008 but I can't open any of the ogf files. Is there any way to open them in Maya and the save them as ogf? I couldn't find a plug-in on the internet. Any help very appreciated, thanks in advance. :)

i've not tried it, but i think you first convert the ogf's to smd format using this:

http://stalkerin.gameru.net/downloads/s ... cdcfull.7z

then find an smd importer. should be common because hl2 uses that format.

Thanks. I downloaded the file, but it seems it's "acdc" all.spawn complier/decomplier for 1.0003 patch game. Is there a mistake in the link, how would it convert the ogf files to smd files?

I also found on the Google a program called "ogf2smd." I haven't tried it yet as of now, I hope it converts the ogf files to smd as it claims.

So, you say that after ogf files are converted to smd, it can be worked in MAYA. I hope I can pull it off. :)

C'mon guys, please, anyone... Matt_B, Dezodor, Russo, jamie, silverpower... any one graphics pro can help me how to use MAYA with OGF files. How to open them and then save them in OGF format? Surely you should know it...
Thanks in advance :)

Nope. You just need bardak's tools from StalkerInside. They have import and export plugins for Maya 8.5 and 2008, and you can use the SDK plugins to supplement these for 8.5.

I should note that the best resource for stalker tools & info off forum discussions is a russian site, that most of us read using google translate. Google seems to do a good job & I'm having forum discussions there using software translation for the first time, ah the marvels of technology :)

the site - http://stalkerin.gameru.net

translation link - http://translate.google.com/translate?u ... l=ru&tl=en

seems to be down at the moment so i can't give a direct link to the tools.

Thanks Silverpower and Matt_B :thumbright:
Sorry that I've become a bother for you all, but great info, thanks. :thumbright:

The site is down, true. I'll check it later and use the google translation. :)
