REALLY weird CTD, ideas anyone?

Postby ket on 16 Mar 2013 01:48

I'm making some progress regarding a upgraded blowout system but I've got a really weird error maybe one of you guys have more of a idea about. Blowout happened just fine using a edited version of psy zones and emissions 1.1b (nothing drastic, minor script tweaks and ltx adjustments), however the script didn't seem to "finish" as the radiation ppe effect was never removed. I saved the game using a "test" file and the game had a CTD, unsurprisingly. This is what the error log said;

stack trace:

0023:0104BFB6 stlport.5.0.dll, stlp_std::_Rb_global<bool>::_Rebalance()

Any ideas?

Small update, tried again with a few very minor changes and this time CTD said this in the log;

stack trace:

0023:0101C3A5 stlport.5.0.dll, stlp_std::_Rb_global<bool>::_M_decrement()

That's rather interesting. It points to a C++ compiler, Multiplatform C++ Standard Library (STL implementation). STLPORT.DLL belongs to STLport Standard ANSI C++ Library. STLport is currently way above 5.0.0 level than that of your program posts the error prompt. (5.2.1 last checked) It may seem that through a (possibly) corrupt, function-blocked STLport.dll a Boolean-global error also develops (of a logical data type with two values, as of true or false).

You may have a corrupt registry. You may try dealing with that option first, system restore to a previous date you know it was working well.

Then, you may start from the second simplest option, go through the new scripts and have a close look at the "true" and "false" values given there. My opinion is that there's a fault in the script you imported, though as more often than not, it may just be a small entry after all.

Thats kinda what I thought, so I did some digging. I think I might of found the problem - in the bin folder is a file named stlport.5.0.dll.manifest, removed the file and am currently conducting tests, if it all goes south you'll be the first to know :p
