A-Life stuff

I've always wondered what these settings do exactly but nobody has ever been able to tell me.. so here goes asking the same question again, what do these exactly do;

schedule_min = 1
schedule_max = 10
process_time = 900
update_monster_factor = 0.5 ;0.1
max_combat_iteration_count = 10
switch_factor = 0.4
objects_per_update = 20 ;10

Stabbing in the dark:

Are they external engine instructions? Only suggested as they appear to be 'fine' controllers, i.e. not something that quite warrants being integral to the engine but important none-the-less.

And yeah, I'm aware of the fact that pretty much everything that isn't 'in' the engine is still governed by it but those controls have most likely been left alone by modders, as they are to us as is knowing the correct torque settings on crank shaft bearing bolts to an average car owner. It's a poor analogy as there's quite likely some tuning that could be done with the game settings if one knew precisely what they did.

Indeed. I'm sure I've managed to figure out the Switch_factor setting. It appears to govern from how far away NPCs engauge the enemy. A good way to see this in action is to set switch distance to 1200, and switch factor to 0.1 :thumbright:
