Stalker SoC shadow mod

Postby ket on 13 Mar 2010 04:08

Does anybody remember some time ago somebody on GSC posting a mod he/she made correcting the short shadows in the game? Does anyone have that mod kicking about on their HDD or have a link for it? I can't find it anywhere :(

I would suggest that one way of achieving this could be through the shaders folder (I use SkyGraphics, not vanilla) However, SkyGraphics of course follow the vanilla file structure and if you have a look into the Shaders R2, there are 9 "shadow_ xxxx" files inside. Tweaking them should require a lot of tries to achieve the effects one wishes to achieve, I would expect. It would make a good sense to ask someone who is cil on this matter (weather/sun/shadows) about some parameters which have already been tested and for the results of them.
