HAHAHA! As soon as I get my webcam workin, I'll show you how FUBAR my pc is. You know that notebook wire binding? Well, alot of my parts are held together with those............
Plus, I had to use an exacto blade to cut part of my hard drive shell OFF to get it to fit in its slot.
My cables are a tangled mess because I had to put things in wierd places.
I have a power supply that whines after I turn off the computer.
I have a cooling system for my cpu that is too big for my computer.
Lots of other exacto modifications complete with notebook binding....:)
LOOK! It says gullible on the ceiling!!!

It's my PC, the one I use for modding and gameplay.
I like the case, it's Lian Li case, a rather rare one. I got it cheaper than its price on an auction a few years back.

Thanks, and thanks again. :) Your cases (both) are very cool and somewhat mean, too. :thumbleft:

I'm leaning towards a 9800GTX+ but the pound (I'm in UK) is losing ground very much and prices are going up, despite the economic downturn and widespread price reductions in the world. I'll wait until Christmas, prices may get lower then.

When I got the GTX260 and put it next to my 7600GT, I just had to take a pic. I was sure there was no way it would fit LMAO.

I'm leaning towards a 216 stream 260 myself... my case is that big I had to cut a whole in the desk, so I am pretty sure it will fit!

I'm planning to get the same as well :)

rockingmtranch

It looks like a behemoth next to 7600 lol :D how did you manage to make it fit, did you need to cut any metal from the case?

I need to measure my case again :)

No cutting. It didn't want to go in initially but then I noticed it was hitting the RAM clips from the empty slots. Closed those and she went in like

I'm worried that it may hit the cabling on the Primary IDE connector, on which the DVD-RW is attached, Then I may need to remove the cable and attach the DVD RW to an empty SATA connector through an adaptor. Not something I'm looking forward to, considering VISTA gets -randomly-capricious in recognising the drives when they're changed. :)

You can see in my pic that the card 'snugs' up to the SATA hard drive. The SATA cables probably saved me.

This is Prowler :D

Current settings being tested are;

E4400 @ 3.2GHz 400MHz FSB 1.38v
2x1GB Cellshock PC8000 @ 1200MHz 2.1v
HD3870 512MB GDDR4 @ 877\2.5GHz
HD3870 512MB GDDR3 @ 877\2GHz (interestingly, this card is a hair faster when tested against eachother)

Memory results recorded by Everest Ultimate

9.1GB\s Read, 7.1GB\s write, 7.9GB\s Copy, 57ns latency

As you can see, Prowler ain't no puff  Hes pretty modded out, heres a wee rundown :salute:

Enzotech MST-81 on top MOSFETS
Lapped NB and SB heatsinks
40mm fan added to NB
Custom made cooler for top HD3870
Zalman VF900 on bottom HD3870
Zalman CNPS9500 CPU cooler
XTC memory cooler
Stock goo on all components replaced with Arctic Silver Ceramique
My custom P5Q Pro BIOS (better memory & CPU support etc)
Popped the IHS off my E4400 and lapped it front and back
A bunch of other stuff.

I've been thinking about getting a new CPU for a while now, even @ 3.4GHz its not fast enough to deal with my HD3870s, need a good E8400 I can clock to 4GHz at least. I also want to get a Asus Xonar D2X as well as maybe a PhysX card. Depends how long it takes for ATi to sort their physics solution out. To save anyone trying to count them all up heres a list of all the fans

2x 80mm LED
2x 120mm LED
1x 40mm LED
1x 70mm (VF900)
1x 92mm (CNPS9500)
1x 140mm (PSU)
2x 50mm (XTC cooler)

Surprisingly with all that, the system is pretty quiet, only gets noisy once the 9500 kicks to full RPM. By that stage I'm gaming with my 105 RMS watt 6.1 system cranked, so I can't hear it anyway lol.
