Well, F.E.A.R. is my another favourite game other then stalker, I did play it through about 20-30 times or even more.
My usual play-style was that, I had a coffee at night, turn off the lights, and after a playthrough I started new game immediatelly.

On a good system FEAR looks amazing. I would sneak up to a corner and
throw a grenade or two and kill one or two guys. Then just run back and
listen to the others argue and cuss each other out as their trying to decide
who is going to advance. LMAO! This was so funny!

The F.E.A.R. AI is still the best IMHO. I saw that once they throw back my grenade to me, lol, it was awesome. It's never recommended to stay at your own place, they call for people and they move behind your back or from sides, and they aren't as dumb as to reveal themself to opened fire.
And they are building covers by using furnitures, etc., of course nothing is scripted, only the thriller events and cutscenes.
Awesome game.
Warner Bros. has been bought the licence from Sierra so now they can use the original title, it'll be F.E.A.R. 2 - Project Origin.

Release date: 2009 february 10.

FEAR is a very good game. I haven't completed it just yet but its a very fun game along with the freaky jumping scenes (as in something that makes you jump).

Also the AI is very good it takes me a while to get pass them. If only the AI was this good in every other game. Or even better :sunny:

I also think that FEAR has the best AI.... for instance on one occasion I had a room with 5 baddies in it. I managed to take out 4 of them (one got pinned to a column with the bolt gun thingy) but I could not find the 5th one!! I was behind cover and every time I popped my head out he would fire at me! Then I finally seen him move very, very slightly..... he was "hiding" in plain sight.... by standing right in front of the one that I had pinned to the column and being very still!

Ah the Penetrator, wonderful gun.

If you remember the game well, you know where you first see the invisible ninja type? Like a warehouse with two floors, stairs in between and a gap in the floor down the middle of the room... anyway, I'm shooting wildly with the shotgun and take one out. Switch to the Penetrator and nail one as he jumped at me, pinned him to the ceiling.

I just sat there and laughed.

I used to play it online a lot as well, it is a very good online game, especially in team deathmatch.

Did you guys play the 2 expansion packs, too? Those are also awesome, you shouldn't miss them if you like the first episode.

I played the first expansion, thought it was OK, but preferred the original.

I felt those massive robot things were just too much, and I think they are putting similar things in F.E.A.R 2. Loved the minigun though :rock:

What was the second expansion, was it the standalone one "Persues mandate"?

I played the first expansion pack and I thought it was pretty good. Will have to see if I can find the second one! eBay time!!!! :thumbright:

EDIT: UPDATE: Found it on eBay for $12.99 with free shipping! I can handle that price.... the first expansion pack is running about half that.... that is cheap gaming for sure! Anyhow, I bought it... the seller still has another one if anyone is interested!

In some areas the level design is worse then the first and the second episode, but I didn't care about it, not the graphics was the aspect why I like the previous games, too. The gameplay is addictive, hard, the combat is amazing, there is a new faction, some new weapons, a new burrowed monster, cool effects, and so on.

Seriously, anyone playing any version of FEAR, try it without slowmo, much better gameplay in my opinion.

I never used slowmo/bullet time with either Fear Recon or Fear Extraction point, tbh, both games had me on the edge of my seat more than Doom3
lol, I nearly shit myself whilst playing Recon, so I'm walking into the room and I see a ladder, start climbing down it and I look up to see the girl looking down at me, man that freaked me out
