Because of this postal strike going on in the UK, no one gets their posts, either at all. or 10-15 days later at the best. Big problems. I'm waiting important stuff, some documents, some software discs, etc, like everyone else. From now on, it seems back to basics, either use a fax/email for all communications or go and get the stuff yourself, lol.

Yeah i hear you nightwatch. We just had a run of strikes starting with nurses and doctors (how they can strike under the hypocratic oath i'll never know) then the state refuse removal went on strike (that stank....crickets chirping) then the postal service (post is late at the best of times) and the latest was the incumbant telecoms operator!!! I actually think south africa is the only country where people dance when they are unhappy. They gather in groups and protest and "dance" around. Quite funny and ridiculous at the same time.

Yeah I see your point.
We still don't have post today. I'm missing the deadlines, e.g. signing and returning the car insurance renewal forms, otherwise they'll expire; tax forms, and thing like that, you name it. Problem really.
Well, in general, I'm not of course against the concept of having the right of Strikes, as it's one of the fundamental principles of the democracy as we know it, but like everything, things need to be in moderation and applied in absolute necessity and without upsetting the already struggling ordinary people.
Strikes, as far as I'm aware, in theory, should upset the businesses' profitability and so they would more inclined to negotiate, etc, as the idea goes. I don't think the concept of Strike was designed in the first place to hurt the people.
In this kind of situation, Post Office administration doesn't bother themselves at all, because only we the ordinary people take the fall with this. So..??

That's a screwed-up deal you got there. In the US, the government
would step in and not allow that to happen because they know the
cost in dollars lost. I wonder why your Parliment allowed that to
happen? Seems strange. Hope you can overcome such a hassle.

Thanks. Today we got some post, apparantly posted 20 days ago, I will reply them and then they should reach their destination, when, who knows. They should've been already arrived their destination after i've filled and signed the forms. seems like we're getting back to stone age, now I think the most efficient mail is the one that you yourself take it to its destination

Audioave, As much as this administration loves unions, I doubt they would stop any strike. Unless it was to punish the Co involved.

So we in south africa have one of the highest interwebs costs in the world, and one of the slowest. So some guys decided to do an experiment involving adsl and a homing pigeon. They started downloading a 4 gig file via adsl and sent a pigeon on a three hundred mile flight with a flash drive holding the same file. When the pigeon reached its destination, the adsl download was only 80% complete lol.

Am I the only person on earth that has noticed that the ladies of my generation seem to have an obsession with taking many pictures of themselves in their bathroom, often at an angle where you can clearly see the contents of their porcelain? What the hell is up with the myspace-bathroom pictures?
