Don't know if it matters, but after looting the sniper bunker and after the Big blowout, I always go back to see Bartender. To sell and stock back up. So I am not going from there directly to "Sniper Alley". Once I get my 2nd 4890 and am running crossfire, I may start a new game to see what happens. Ordered the card today, was tired of waiting on the 5870's!!

Thanks Rock, I know you're being too modest, as I remember that you were one of the guys who brought the original SIMBION_rc to us all players and fought with on daily basis, and pulled me into the game as well.

Grump642, so you're getting a 4890 at the end instead of a 5870; well, I'm not quite knowledgeable on ATI products like you many guys here, but I believe 4890 is still a very strong competitor to many cards around. And the price of 5870 will come down over the the even much further as well, so not a bad move I guess.

Also, it'd be great if you could fill me with some details on this "Snipers Alley symptom" as you say that you had been taking a different route, like going to the Bar first instead of going directly into Pripyat after the BS shot-down job. So, when you came back from the Bar and then enter Pripyat by BS-Bar-Pripyat route, had you experienced this delayed spawning of initial Monolith Assault there?

After kicking butt in RF, I go back to the Bar to restock. Since the next step is close to the end, I sometimes finish off some side quests before going up the hill and into Pripyat. Never knew there was any reason to hurry. And I hate getting close to the end of this game.

PS. The 4890 is equal to a nv 275. Depending on the game. So I will have 2 of them (OC'ed of course) in crossfire.

There, you'll find the download link on the right side of the page, halfway down. Currently 3 servers are available, if one of them may be offline, the others should provide the download.

Well well well, i ain't been here in awhile, infact quite a long ass time.

So i want to try the new NEWSA, but i must ask a few questions.

Ballistics on Normal weapons, like normal AK and such, are they still Fubar, as i don't like using the Newsa weapons, way to overpowered.

Second, what are the faction movements like, do all factions move around and such?

Economy, is it balanced and such.

Difficutly, well its NEWSA, so no need to ask that.

Finally, is the newest version worth the download?

I wouldn't expect what happens if your faction wars but if I remenber there were attacks extra. Especially on Bar where theres always action from what I remenber.

Damn right about that. If there was a hospital for people that play stalker non-stop and die it would be full because of NEWSA . Well I deffiantly be in it.

Hey jamie You should be a journalist and interview Gordon Brown, lol. I think Balious has already answered all the questions well, (thanks Balious answers also has some touch of humours in them as well )

If you ask my opinion, well you're asking it, then I'd say of course go download and play. Why the hell haven't you tried it yet, buddy?? (joking... I know you're too busy with modding and... some love affairs... )
I remember that once you've written some spectacular stories arising from NEWSA.
(ps: Balious's stories are also unforgettable, needs to be mentioned while on the subject)

Just one addition to Balious' answers... Bullet dynamics globally mimic the real time bullet aerodynamics (impulse-speed-wind-gravity-weight-in flight friction-impact, etc) as much as possible. You were talking before about beefing-up your PC's specs for this mod, how are they now? Quad+Vista is no good. But Windows 7 64+Quad= phenomenal ( a lot of RAM+ big PSU+good GPU) make it even better.

I am dealing with modding and Love, but also alot of Mental and Physical health problems, but it matters not.

Anyway my new Rig. Quad Q9300 2.50GHZ Core - 2Gb Ram - Sapphire X1950 Pro Card, and a pretty beefy PSU - Win 7 PSU 32Bit as i ain't got over 3GB ram so no use for 64. Hopefully upgrading some more so i should be able to handle this little Pc stress test called Newsa. XD

Well i guess ill go to bed as its 3:43am and ill download in the morning and give it a blast!

I will also try NEWSA again perhaps after christmas if I finally get a damn new graphics card by then along with Win 7. My hunger to finally completing it along with STALKER will happen. I did get close to completing STALKER with jamie's faction wars but stopped playing after turning the brain schorcher thing off.

Jamie the problems that you say you're having are just the human body and mind's natural adjustment struggle to the environment as expected at your age, I don't think you have any serious problems, and they are not more than what the general public always struggles with. You're just getting used to them, in a few years time, you'll say: "OK, we've all seen that, so what!"
On the gaming matter, you've made a very sounding PC But let me remind you that this ATI X1950 pro card has been proven with having difficulties with this game and mod, at the least, if not sure about other games. Previously a player (I think it was Oldfighter) had problems around the "very active and demanding" Bar area while using this card, he changed to another one and problems disappeared; then he put the X1950 back... problems came back. removed again... they went again. So, you may think getting another card as well that would suit your new PC. Also 64 bit is not only about the fully utilizing the extended memory amount, it also offers many other improved functions in terms of taxing the CPU dealing with calculations. Anyway, no big deal, actually, but keep it in mind that Quad cores work much better with Win 7 -64 (but not with Vista though. 32 was not good, 64 proved even worse)


Balious, you should really finish STALKER and this Mod to the end, the climax is in Pripyat and beyond, you're missing a lot of excitement. (Well, it may not be as exciting as being with ladies but it's still exciting enough )

That's was me who had that problem when trying to enter the Bar area using the ati x1950 card, the game crashed, then I changed to 4850 and magically
no more crashes, now I'm using the ati 4870 which is even better.

nightwatch, I've completely forgotten to How I obtain the NEWSA FN2000NW-SPX beside buying it , if I remember well, I should
get that weapon as a reward from a mission, don't remember which one and I'm just about to enter Army Warehouses, it would be suicidal to proceed
without that weapon , I've finished the game before so it wont be a spoiler for me, Please email me .

Hi, and good day to you, too, Wombat_70; and thanks for correcting my mistake, yes of course it was you who verified the ATI X1950 card's problems associated with STALKER and NEWSA. Thanks for correcting it.

On the availability of the NEWSA FN2000NW-SPX, (while thanking you for giving such a high regard for this weapon) well, you can get it together with some ammo from the Cordon trader Sid after completing the "Bring the military case from the Blockpost" down the road in Cordon.
But, may I advise you that after receiving those stuff, you should step out of Sid's bunker rather carefully and treat all your steps while in Cordon with the same heightened alert.

(EDIT: The method of acquirement of NEWSA FN2000NW-SPX as a mission reward was given with assumption of you are playing "Extreme" mode. Otherwise, all other modes, the weapon will be given by Seriy after saving his ,cough, back in the Hangar.)

I can't wait till after christmas to fire up NEWSA again and continue my adventures and stories
